FAQ

What to Expect from the First Session?

If you are interested in talking and setting up an initial session, please give me a call. We can briefly discuss the type of treatment you are seeking.

Individual sessions are 50 minutes in length. Family or couples appointments are available in 50 or 80 minute sessions, depending on scheduling availability. The initial intake appointment also includes paperwork and procedural items. I will email you the intake paperwork prior to the first session.

Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 11am to 7pm.

How does billing work?

Payment is due at time of the session.

I accept cash, check, credit card and HSA spending account cards.

California Victim Witness Assistance funding is accepted if you have a valid claim number.

Some health insurance carriers allow you to choose an ‘out of network provider’ (PPO plans). I will be happy to provide you with a statement of services that are provided so that you can seek reimbursement. Be sure to call your health insurance carrier for details on your coverage and reimbursement for psychotherapy.

Please call 408-834-6985 to discuss fees for service.

Do you offer Video Therapy/Telehealth sessions?

Yes! I offer video therapy for clients in the state of California.

Online telehealth is personal counseling offered over the telephone or computer using a HIPAA complaint platform.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
